Salmon:
The Super Food
Salmon
is one of the Earth’s healthiest foods. It is a protein that is low in
fat and packed with omega 3 fatty acid. 4 ounces of salmon provides
essential vitamins, minerals, and unsaturated fat such as selenium,
B-12, and Omega 3 fatty acid. Omega 3 fatty acid has many positive
effects on the body. It lowers triglyceride levels and cholesterol in
the body. Recent studies have also confirmed the presence of peptides,
or small proteins, that provide support for the cartilage within the
joints, it boosts the effectiveness of insulin, and helps with the
reduction of inflammation within the digestive system. One of these
specific peptides called calcitonin acts to balance collagen and
minerals such as calcium within the bones and the tissues surrounding
the bones. Some of the other benefits of salmon include:
Cardio-vascular benefits: the
omega 3 may help repair heart damage, prevent hardening of the
arteries, prevents blood clots, and lowers blood pressure, and lessons
the risk of stroke.
Nervous System: improves memory and helps the brain function better. Its is a natural anti-depressant.
Metabolism:
speeds up your metabolism. Boosts the rate of sugar metabolism and
lowers blood sugar levels. Helps to lower the risk of diabetes.
Eyes: helps prevent macular degeneration.
Beauty: helps to give you bright eyes, shiny hair, and helps maintain healthy skin!
